01 About the Center

The PANDA Center was established by the International Charitable Organization “Child Rescue” — an implementing partner of Save Ukraine. It is Ukraine’s first integrated model of comprehensive protection for children who have experienced violence, exploitation, or conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV).
An important component of the PANDA Center will be a Child Protection Unit based on the Barnahus model — a structural unit of the Kyiv Regional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children.
The Center brings together, in one safe space, all the services a child previously had to receive from different institutions. As a result, the child does not have to retell what happened again and again — to different people and in different places.
02 The team supports\nThe child throughout\nThe process
Law enforcement representatives · child protection services · psychologists and therapists · lawyers · social educators and case managers · medical professionals · forensic medical experts. The team supports the child from the moment of referral through completion of the recovery program and receipt of legal assistance.
03 The child is interviewed only once
The child is interviewed only once, in the presence of a psychologist, in a specially equipped room, and the interview is recorded on video. The investigator, prosecutor, lawyer, and the child’s legal representative are in an adjacent room; the child cannot see or hear them. The video recording serves as evidence in court, eliminating repeated questioning and minimizing retraumatization while improving the quality of evidence and the likelihood of a fair judgment.
